Terms of Service

You buy a gift, we interview the storyteller, and we turn their spoken memories into a book. The storyteller owns their words and images. Each package is a one-time purchase — no subscriptions.

By purchasing a gift or using the interview, you agree to these terms. You must be at least 18 to make a purchase. The storyteller account created with a purchase is for the person named as the recipient and may not be sold or transferred to anyone else.

The answers, recordings, photos and captions the storyteller provides remain their property. By using the service, the storyteller gives us permission to process that content — including with AI tools — to conduct the interview, draft and format the book, and produce the package purchased. This permission ends when the content is deleted. You confirm you have the right to share anything you upload, including photographs.

• Digital — the interview experience and a finished digital book.
• Keepsake — everything in Digital, plus a professionally printed hardcover and a digital archive with QR codes to recordings, kept while the account is active.
• Family — everything in Keepsake, plus a premium book design, additional printed copies, expanded photo capacity and family collaboration.

Printed books ship to the United States and Canada. Sales tax is collected at checkout for printed packages and remitted where required. Printing begins once the storyteller finishes their book or approves the draft for printing; we will confirm the expected production and delivery time at that point.

The gift email link is sent only when the giver approves delivery — immediately, on a chosen future date such as a birthday or holiday, or held until the giver decides. The giver can change or cancel a scheduled delivery any time before it is sent, through their gift management link.

You may cancel an order for a full refund any time before the gift email has been sent to the storyteller. Once the storyteller has started their interview, or once printing has begun, the purchase is non-refundable — except where required by law. If a printed book arrives damaged, we will reprint it.

Do not use the service to record or share content that is unlawful, that violates someone else's rights (including privacy and copyright), or to impersonate another person. We may suspend an account used this way.

Chapter drafts are produced with AI from the storyteller's own answers. They are a starting point for editing, not a professional biography, and may contain errors — the storyteller is responsible for reviewing the book before printing.

We work to keep the service available and your data safe, but we provide it "as is" and cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim connected to the service is limited to the amount you paid for the affected order.

We may update these terms; material changes will be notified to account holders by email. Continued use after a change means you accept it. Questions: contact us through the site.
